Alberta Music Announces New Executive Director
August 7, 2012
ALBERTA MUSIC ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

It is with great pleasure that the Alberta Music Industry Association’s Board of Directors announces the appointment of Chris Wynters as their new executive director.
Since 1990, Chris Wynters has been actively employed in the Alberta music industry, as a successful recording artist and writer, a producer, and as a recording studio owner. His knowledge and passion for the industry, both technical and artistic, his extensive experience in project management, and his strong leadership skills made Chris an easy choice for the hiring committee.
“We are very excited Chris Wynters has chosen to lead the Alberta Music Industry Association as executive director”, said board president, Brett Fraser. “We are thrilled with his vision and creative energy, which combined with his passion for music is sure to be an incredible delivery of the mission and mandate of the association.”
Chris’ experience in the industry is extensive, from grant writing to producing, negotiating sponsorships to judging talent contests. The ever-changing landscape of the industry has kept Chris constantly interested and engaged.
“I don’t think there’s ever been a more exciting time for music in this province as there is right now. There are so many great bands and artists, so many committed industry professionals and so many people excited by what’s going on! Me included. I can’t wait to get started.”
Chris Wynters will officially begin his new position at Alberta Music’s Annual General Meeting on September 17, 2012.
