Breaking out of your home town and into other parts of the province (or country) takes time
and a lot of hard work, in this session our panel will teach you the nuts and bolts of planning
a tour.
Rob Wright, an agent with S.L Feldman & Associates since 2005 (Vancouver), will be on hand to help discuss proper routing techniques, how to contact venues, etiquette while on the road, finding your fan base and marketing those out of town shows.
This session will provide valuable insight for anyone booking their own tours, for artist managers or those interested in becoming booking agents.

Rob Wright | Agent, S.L Feldman & Associates (Vancouver, BC)
Rob Wright got his start in the music industry performing at and promoting independent concerts in Edmonton in the late 90’s. His time in Edmonton included several years as Talent Buyer at the New City Likwid Lounge, a stint at Stony Plain Records as well as festival and event logistics. An agent at Feldman since 2005, Wright represents a diverse roster of rising stars & established mainstays. In recent years, his role at the agency has expanded to include buying talent and consulting for festivals and corporate events. A musician at heart, Wright continues to play regularly in his free time. He also enjoys eating ribs and watching rap videos

Art Szabo | Talent Buyer, Starlite Room
Art brings his 15 years of experience as a performer and touring musician to the Starlite Room in Edmonton, where he has been the Talent Buyer for the past 4 years. He is a manager to a number of bands, and the newly appointed C.I.A (Chief Indie Administrator) for brand new National Independent Artists magazine called “Being Indie” set to launch in late Spring 2012 in over 200 locations across Canada.

Ben Sures | Independent Artist
Ben Sures newest album ‘Gone To Bolivia’ was the most played Alberta recording on CKUA in 2011. He has extensive tour experience as he has performed across Canada, in the UK, Ireland and Beirut, Lebanon. He is a semi regular feature performer on CBC‘s The Irrelevant show which is broadcast across Canada every Saturday morning at 11 am. Ben is a self managed full time musician and songwriter based in Edmonton.
